from the farmer: (teacher)
- to believe in the potential of the bamboo to eventually grow out of the soil (potential of every student)
- recognising varied growth rate of plants (learning curve of different students)

from the bamboo: (student)
- the value of patience (to be unaffected by others' quick success)
- continue to grow roots despite being unseen by others (be invested to develop one's basics though inconspicuous to others)
